Job Summary

Reduce the past 30 day marijuana rates among 8th -12th graders in the city of Cbicago, reduce the non-medical use of prescription drugs among 8th-12th graders and adults and increase IYS (Illinois Youth Survey) participation (schools and number of students).
Job Duties
- Deliver at least on evidence-based Youth Prevention Education Model Program aimed at reducing marijuana use with at least one entire grade level 5th• 12th grade students. Core and booster sessions are required. As applicable. Core sessions should be delivered during the school day in fiscal year. In coordination with the delivery of the evidence-based curriculum/a deliver an approved additional sessions addressing opiolds.
- Implement and maintain two communication campaigns addressing the contributing factors related to past 30 day marijuana use and non-medical use of prescription drugs. Attend training, conduct planning, and implement communication campaigns that align with IDHS/SUPR. Submit required documentation by established deadlines.
- Recruit schools to participate In the administration of the Illinois Youth Survey (IVS) Identify and create a list of all public schools in the service area that house 8th, 10th and 12111graders. The list will include the name of the school, address, and name of the principal and name of another school representative or contact that can be instrumental In recruitment.
- Create and implement an annual IVS Recruitment Action Plan to Increase IVS participation of public schools, at minimum, In the service area. IVS Recruitment Action Plan will be due by date determined by IDHS/SUPR.
- Provide regular reports IDHS/SUPR.
- Conduct two activities that focus and are designed to raise community awareness regarding (1) Youth marijuana use and (2) prescription and opioid drug use. (Youth Advisory Committee must be involved In the planning of the two activities.
- Conduct an environmental scan to assess retailers for selling marijuana paraphernalia and conduct retail education. Conduct environmental scan that identifies which retailers sell marijuana paraphernalia.
- Raise awareness regarding the drug take-back programs in the service area. Plan with local stakeholders and distribute educational materials about the potential for abuse of medications, safe disposal and safe storage. Also distribute the list in the service area.
- Maintain and enhance a Youth Advisory Committee a minimum of 12 youth must serve on the committee.
- Maintain and Update Resource Guide (e.g., afterschool programs, mental health counseling, sexual assault prevention, school based health clinics that are open to the community, suicide prevention programs, bullying prevention etc.)
- Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Reporting must be submitted via the Prevention Hubb .
- Report on the delivery of My Generation Rx.
Qualifications
- Diploma preferred BA Degree with at least two (2) years of experience in social sen ices field:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills Prevention certified and/or certifiable.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Computer skills
